Septikos® for septic treatment and maintenance couldn't be much easier to use. Simply flush one scoop (a 1/2-pound scoop is included with every bag) of product down the toilet once per month for septic systems with tanks up to 1,000 gallons. For systems with over 1,000 gallons, use two scoops. If you are just beginning treatment, you should apply two doses each of the first two months (once every two weeks) using one scoop per 500 gallons of tank capacity.
For example, to treat a home with a 1,000-gallon septic tank that has been emitting foul odors, start week one with two scoops of Septikos®. After two weeks, use two more scoops. Repeat the first two doses during the second month. Beginning the third month, apply one scoop monthly.
This application method will take care of most problems. If after several weeks the results are not what you expected, increasing the amount of product used may help, but we recommend that you contact us to talk about problems specific to your situation.

Septikos® can form small clumps when it sits on the shelf for an extended period of time. The clumps can be broken up by hand or by crushing them with the scoop. Breaking up the clumps will help the product distribute more thoroughly throughout the septic system.
